Headquarters at Cologne, Germany, EASA was formed on 12 July 2002. Currently, EASA is governed under the European Regulation number: (EU) 2018/1139; which repeals all other previous regulations passed in the past.
EASA has a team of 800+ Aviation experts and administrators, spread over headquarter and 4 international permanent representative offices in Canada, USA, China and Singapore. In the year 2018 EASA spent approximately 161 Million Euro; majority of which came from the fee paid by the industry and in the form of EU subsidy.
The main tasks of EASA includes: Draft implementing rules for aviation safety, Certify & approve airworthiness of products, Provide oversight and support to Member States in fields of Air Operations and Air Traffic Management.
