Driven by environmental concerns, commitment to a greenerplanet and catalyzed by rising fuel prices and lower total cost of ownership, EV ecosystem in India is maturing at a rapid pace. A critical facilitator of EVadoption is ready availability of slow and fast chargers ensuring easy accessto efficient and cost- effective charging. The pace of charging infrastructuredevelopment in India is gaining momentum, driven by policy reforms andcontinuous expansion by public and private players. With an estimated 45-50million EVs (including 2/3/4 wheelers and buses) on Indian roads by 2030, thepotential opportunity for a pure play charging business is enormous. Thepurpose of this assignment to support business development for investmentopportunities for IFC in the integrated electric vehicle (EV) charginginfrastructure space in India (“Market”). This will include an analysisof the market environment, delving into trends, consumers, competitors, opportunities/threats, differentiators, and developing a deep view on strategicpositioning of the key players from the point of view of potential investmentby IFC in selected target companies (“Players”).
