Expression of Interest are invited for Market, Policy & Regulatory Analysis on Fintech Eco-System in India and Internationally. This assignment aims to better understand the existing and upcoming Fintech models and frameworks; including identifying regulatory & policy challenges and solutions and their treatment internationally. Key areas to be covered would include (but limited to): 1. High-level ecosystem overview: Map the Indian Fintech ecosystem across verticals lending, payments, investments and trading, wealth management, insurance etc; along with their regulators (RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, IFSCA etc.) and key associations/bodies. 2. Conduct a Legal and Regulatory overview study providing examples and case-studies from different jurisdictions (at least 3 within each topic), where there is already a mature market and regulators have on-going work Primary discussion with domestic Fintech players and associations (~20-30) Identify the key challenges and dependencies faced by the Fintech sector i.e. IP issues, KYC, Data privacy etc including ways these have been dealt with Cover Emerging trends (Neo Banking, Embedded Finance, Open banking, others) For the regulatory requirements to be covered in cross-market comparison, the lens to be looked at to include: (i) License type and hierarchy; (ii) Capital requirements; (iii) Licensing requirements; (iv) Legal form; (v) Scope of permitted services;(vi) Clients (Rules on consumer protection and restrictions of access); (vii) Operational restrictions; (viii) Managerial qualification; (ix) Eligible investors; (x) Regulatory examples (domestic / international) Publication Date: 14-Oct-2022.
