Solution for derusting and cold zinc phosphating.ICF SPECIFICATION FOR COLD ZINC PHOSPHATINGSOLUTION.ICF/MD SPEC.115.---------------------------------------------------- -I.(a) The solution should be clear and free from insolubleimpurities.(b) Specific gravity of the solution should be 1.18(min).(c) Solution should freely miscible with distilled water.II When mixed 1 part of the solution with 2 parts of distilledwater the resultant solution should meet the followingrequirements.(a) The solution should be able to remove the mild rust grade AofISO 8501-1;1988 (D) & oil or grease adhering to steel sheets.(b) Solution should form a crystalline zinc phosphate coatingon application by brush or by dipping on steel sheets.III When a thoroughly cleaned M.S. Test panel of size 10x5 cmis immersed in1:2 solution (1 part of zinc phosphate solution+2 parts of distilled water ) for a period of 10 minutes thezinc phosphate coating formed should meet the followingrequirements. (a) Coating factor - Class `C" of IS 3618/1966(1.1 -4.3 gm/m2)(b) Scrap a small area - The phosphated surface shouldof the test panel with a yield a powder.sharp blade.(c) Scrap asmall area - The phosphated surface shouldthe test panel with a show a whitish streak.blunt knife.(d) Qualitative test for - The coating removed from thezinc& phosphate. test panel should answer thetest forzinc phosphate.IV On handling of the solution it should not cause any injury orirritation to the skin of worker.******************
