SYNOPSIS: This Sources Sought Announcement is to assist the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) to identify potential sources to provide an Aerial Delivery fire suppression system designed for the specific purpose of aerial firefighting of forest fires.
The Government requests responders submit a Broad Other Transaction Authority Announcement (BOTAA) preproposal as outlined in the DEVCOM Soldier Center BOTAA (DEVCOM-SC BOTAA 22-01) located at:

Objective: DEVCOM-SC is seeking information on technologies or capabilities to develop and/or enhance an Aerial Delivery fire suppression system. The system should utilize Container Delivery System (CDS) airdrop proceduresand capable of airdrop from large fixed wing aircraft such as the C-130J and C-17.
Background: Forest fires and wildfires have been a major issue in the U.S. and other parts of the world. Wildfire has contributed to the destruction of multiple acres of forest wildlives, infrastructures, as well as human lives. The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM Soldier Center) in Natick, MA is seeking to develop an aerial delivery fire suppression system capable of supporting the extinguishing of forest fires and wildfires using commercial cargo and military aircraft. The system should utilize as many standard operating procedures and equipment associated with military airdrop as possible.
