The Laubegg school site is in Dättnau, a residential area of Winterthur located in the Southwest, in high position above the Töss. To the east, the A1 motorway forms a clear separation with the urban district of Töss, towards the south and the west, Dättnau fits into a rural environment close to the city and is entirely surrounded by forests. The school complex Laubegg was built by architects Schneider Gmür and Roland Meier and landscape architects Rotzler Krebs Partner and was able to be put into service in 2002 with 7 classes. The project comes from a competition procedure. In the years that followed, the school has been enlarged several times and currently has 14 classes, 5 children's garden classes, 3 reception rooms and a gymnasium. 77 teachers/special education and supervision staff teach around 380 schoolchildren. The school complex has long been the only public building in the neighborhood. With the leisure center, an old shooting stand dating from 1907, it constitutes an important social meeting place.
