The permitted use of the subject land is agriculture, specifically, agricultural production of small crops. The land includes an area of 54.11 hectares. The soils comprise sandy loams for the most part with no areas of heavy clays. The subject land has been used for small crop farming in recent times.

The Burdekin Shire Council covers an area of approximately 5, 053 square kilometres and is bordered by Townsville City Council to the north, Charters Towers Regional Council to the west and Whitsunday Regional Council to the south.
