The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking offers for a contractual partner firm or an International non-government organization to assess and develop a demonstration project with sustainable technological solutions at selected district and small hospitals for in Lao PDR.BACKGROUNDGlobally, many government and development partners were faced challenges to manage waste generated during the handling and treatment of COVID -19 patients and suspected cases and implementation of preventive measures such as use of PPEs, laboratory testing, environmental cleaning, disinfection and vaccination activities. In addition to that, sharp waste generated by vaccination activities also faced challenges. WHO guidance on infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and procedures for COVID-19 vaccination activities recommended to set up appropriate waste management system including safe disposal of waste (such as vials and masks).
