To identify potential sitesfor Pumped Storage Power (PSP) plants which may utilize existing mining lands;it was a desk-top study utilizing GIS methods and multi-criteria analysis toscreen potential options and identify the most attractive ones. Two lower reservoirs (created by miningoperations) and four upper reservoirs have been identified for furtherstudy. The PSP schemes range from 370 MWto 700 MW with 8-12 hrs of storage. The results of the scoping study will be made available to the Consultant of the contemplated pre-feasibility study.
