Expression of Interest are invited for Audio-Visual Media Market Assessment and Opportunities Exploration in Jordan
The International Finance Corporation (IFC); a member of the World Bank Group; fosters sustainable economic growth in developing countries by financing private sector investment; mobilizing private capital in local and international financial markets; and providing advisory and risk mitigation services to businesses and governments. One of IFC-s priorities is to support the development of the technology; media; and telecommunications (TMT) sector to create and/or improve the services for end-users such as businesses and citizens. Access to better infrastructure in the TMT sector can be a significant driver of development with the potential to raise economic output and create jobs. One subsector of the TMT sector is audio-visual media (part of creative industry) infrastructure. IFC-s infrastructure team has launched a project to explore the Audio-Visual Media sector in detail by conducting a market study and engage the market players to identify investment opportunities that could fit the IFC-s investment criteria. Hence; IFC is looking for a consultant firm to support the project implementation. The objective of this consultancy is to conduct a deep dive of Jordan's Audio-Visual Media sector with a focus on Aqaba. The scope of work is:(1) Market Assessment: Analyze the current sector fundamentals; trends and outlook within each of IFC-s priority subsectors in Audio-Visual space: film and episodic production and distribution; production infrastructure (sound stages and virtual studios); distribution services (including triple/quad play; pay tv services); animation; visual effects; postproduction services including content globalization; and emerging creative technologies such as virtual reality.(2) Regulatory/Policy Assessment: Review the applicable policy; legislative/regulatory framework notably based on discussions with public and private stakeholders.(3) Exploration of Opportunities with a focus on Aqaba: Identify potential private investment opportunities and complete an assessment which will recommend potential attractive investments for IFC.
