The Province is seeking proponents to provide options for the successful development and implementation of an Aviation Training Centre of Excellence (COE) in Alberta. Through engagement with the Strategic Aviation Advisory Council (SAAC) and other key aviation sector and post-secondary stakeholders, the proponent will consider the short-term skills training priorities captured in the MOU with WestJet while also taking into account longer-term outcomes, including opportunities to leverage existing and potential research/innovation capacities, and ways to position Alberta as a leader in the aviation/aerospace sector. In addition to the design, organization and facilitation of engagement, the following activities are to be undertaken and addressed in a written Interim Project Report, an Executive-Level Briefing Package that shares learnings and recommendations to departmental senior leadership, and a written Final Project Report to the Province: •Summarization, analysis and outcomes of the stakeholder engagement process;•Develop options for COE models, including options of varying scope and scale and recommendations on which model would be best suited to support Alberta-s aviation needs, considering industry input, regional access to technology and aviation programming, and other factors determined by the Province; •Research, analysis and recommendations for a potential governance structure for the COE, including key roles, responsibilities and best practices;•Research, analysis...
