The project "Piloting the use of digital machine identities as a trust anchor for verification in the energy system" is intended to show through practical testing how a blockchain-based register for digital machine identities can be used to verify verification in the energy systemsupport energy system. It is examined and evaluated how several use cases are linked to the register and how a large number of systems/machines are connected. In addition, a target image for identity management in the energy system is presented in connection with such a registerand possible transformation paths that lead to the productive operation of the developed identity register. In addition to technical testing and its scientific evaluation (technical-economic, legal-regulatory), questions on a conceptual level, e.g. with regard to governance, rights, roles and responsibilities of the actors involved, or the identity model in the energy system is a central part of the project.
The project is part of the Future Energy Lab, which was developed by dena on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is set up and operated.
