Introduction
ACTED is an international non-governmental organization, founded in 1993, that is a private, independent, non-profit humanitarian and development organization that respects complete political and religious neutrality, and operates in accordance with the principles of non-discrimination and transparency. ACTED has been working in Lebanon since 2006, with offices in Beirut and Tripoli.

In response to emergency and development needs, LebanonACTED provides the necessary support to all residents of Lebanese territory, including citizens, migrants and displaced persons without any discrimination, based on the results of statistical studies carried out annually through its REACH program, UN agencies, and local consultations.In accordance with the United Nations Humanitarian Principles of Impartiality, Transparency and Equality.

ACTED implements projects in the following areas: water service delivery, solid waste management, civil society and local governance, sustainable livelihoods, climate change adaptation, activating the role of women in society, supporting community initiatives, and implementing vocational training courses in social service centers. ACTED projects target vulnerable populations and are implemented throughout Lebanon.

Backgroundof the project
During a 24-month intervention, ACTED aims to promote the transformation of the circular economy of MSMEs in agriculture and agri-food value chains in the Baalbek, Bekaa, Chouf and Hasbaya regions of Lebanon. By analyzing the MSME landscape, ACTED will generate a report on supporting the circular economy value chain for these enterprises.

The project will empower 15 microenterprises through the creation of more income and employment opportunities and through gender equality training, technical and resource assessments, the development of customized resource management and business support plans, as well as in-kind and/or technical support.

In addition, 25 SMEs will be supported to create jobs, in line with decent work standards through resource assessment and technical gaps, business development, 3Zero decent work training, environmental protection, and inclusion plans.

Finally, ACTED will encourage community engagement through awareness campaigns, Climate Right Practices, and the 3Zero Circular Economy Forum as part of the 3 Zero House initiative, and promote collaboration and circular economy practices.
