Special NoticeSpecial NoticePage 2 of 2*= Required FieldSpecial NoticePage 1 of 2The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price Order with the large business Biomerieux Inc. The procurement is for a full-service contract to cover all maintenance, parts, and labor for the BioFire Torch System. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811210. The BioFire Torch System is used to test for molecular infectious disease, bacteria, viruses, yeast, parasites, and resistant antimicrobial genes simultaneously. Biomerieux Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the BioFire System, its modules, and other components. Biomerieux Inc. is the sole supplier of all services, service-related material, including, but not limited to, field repairs, extended warranty, retrofits, service contracts, and unit certifications. Because the OEM does not have any authorized distributors for this required service, this procurement is limited to one source in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) Soliciting from a Single Source, as no other supplies will satisfy the Agency s requirement.
