Description

This solicitation will be used to establish a Firm Fixed Price Requirements type five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) for 1 (one) year Basic ordering period and four (4) one (1) year ordering periods for Depot Level Teardown, Evaluation and Repair (as needed) of the Bomb Release Unit (BRU-57) Smart Bomb Rack sole source to L3 Harris (CAGE 82340).

The BRU-57/A (BRU- Bomb Release Unit) Smart Bomb Rack used on the F-16 Fighter. The BRU-57 is a MIL-STD-1760 capable, multiple-carriage, vertical-ejection BRU. Two USAF standard BRU-46/A bomb ejector racks are utilized on the BRU-57/A. The BRU-57/A is used to provide side-by-side carriage and release of two 14-inch suspension stores. The BRU-57/A accommodates the MIL-STD-1760 mission stores, allowing for communication between the aircraft Stores Management System (SMS) and the weapon/store. These mission stores include, but are not limited to, Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) and the Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser (WCMD).

Perform depot-level repair of the BRU-57 Smart Rack. Depot-level repair/upgrade encompasses the teardown, evaluation, repair, rebuild, and test of components as specified in the Performance Work Statement (PWS.) The bomb rack and components listed below shall be repaired as required in accordance with original manufacturer's methods and procedures. The Contractor shall tear down and assess the level of repair within 15 working days of receipt of repairable items. The Contractor must control their inventory such that no unit exceeds a work in progress time of 45 working days for 90% of the units. The remaining 10% must be accomplished within a period not to exceed 60 working days. Whenever possible, parts should be stocked or locally manufactured to facilitate timely repair. Required delivery of repaired item is 60 working days after receipt. Contractor shall meet the required delivery at least 90% of the time Sole Source to EDO (82340).
