Description

The project consists of preparing pits, mining materials, crushing pit material into blended aggregate with commercial source additives meeting contract requirements and performing the following:

SLBD 2 items (Roads 579 and 568): Base Bid: 6 miles of crushed and placed Aggregate Surface Course, to a typical compacted depth of 4” on roads 579 (NFSR 40579 Stanley-Landmark or “Bear Valley Rd”) and 568 (NFSR 40568 or Boundary-Dagger Rd). Also includes 10.50 miles of roadbed reconditioning. Option Items: **Up to 4.5 miles of crushed and placed Aggregate Surface Course, to a typical compacted depth of 4” on road 579. Select cleaning of culverts and bridge decks. Seafoam Road items (Road 008) - (starting after completion of 579 and 568 items): Base Bid: 3.9 miles of crushed and placed Aggregate Surface Course, to a compacted depth of 4” on road 008 (NFSR 40008 Beaver Creek Rd or “Seafoam Rd”). Also includes 7.10 miles of roadbed reconditioning. Option Item: **Up to 3.2 miles of crushed and placed Aggregate Surface Course, to a typical compacted depth of 4” on road 008. NOTE: Aggregate items shall utilize Blind Summit Pit or another approved source by the CO, including commercial source(s).

** “Up to” items are subject to availability of funds and not to exceed the quantity listed in the SCHEDULE OF ITEMS.

Crush and Stockpile Aggregate includes development and use of pits, either government source or commercial source, to the specified gradation, including adding approximately 2% bentonite by weight to achieve desired properties. Actual % will be based on contractor-s initial materials testing. This includes clearing and grubbing, removing overburden, mining, crushing, mixing aggregate with bentonite using a pugmill, weighing, creating stockpiles (including any loading or hauling to create stockpiles), testing, and final site reclamation including placing overburden, waste materials, mulching, and seeding.
