SUBJECT:Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the C-130J Low Power Color Radar (LPCR) Receiver Transmitter Processor (RTP), NSN 5841-01-522-1618LG, 780R270G10.
ITEM DESCRIPTIONThe AN/APN-241 LPCR system includes an antenna, indicator and control panels, a Receiver Transmitter Processor (RTP), a RTP mount, an antenna power supply, a wired chassis and several Line Replaceable Modules (LRMs). The AN/APN-241 is a low power, lightweight pulsed Doppler radar in the transport class with a high-resolution synthetic aperture radar mapping mode. In addition to meeting needs for precision navigation, this mapping capability enables operators to execute landing missions with confidence on unimproved runways without aid from ground-based landing systems.
Impediment to Competition:The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Northrop Grumman Services Corporation (NGSC) (CAGE 1LTU5). The Government does not own or have access to the data for this item. Northrop Grumman is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and they possess all data pertaining the LPCR. Since the AN/APN-241 is a non-developmental system used in military applications, the Government did not procure detailed drawing packages, documentation of manufacturing procedures, test specifications or inspection data rights.
