Tender are invited for Canmore WWTP - BAF Priority Airline Replacements
Project Description : Instrument air at the Canmore Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is fed from a compressor on the upper level of the headworks building, through a 2 inch i.d. main header running the length of the plant, and terminating in the upper level of the biological aerated filter (BAF) facility. Supply to individual process areas branch off from this main header. Most of the instrument air infrastructure was installed in the late 1990s during initial buildout of the plant. The instrument air system has operated without adequate drying for the majority of its service life. However, condensation filters and drains, as well as an upgraded air dryer were recently installed with new compressors. Additionally, leaks have developed, especially at the joints of pipe and fittings, thought to result from localized thinning caused by rust. This project aims to replace priority airline piping in the BAF, as well as adding isolation at two locations between headworks and the gallery, and the gallery and BAF. The BAF facility consists of two levels, supporting operation of 10 filters (labelled C1-C5 and N1-N5), with a total of 20 instrument air lines branching from the main header, as well as 3 service air lines. Instrument air branches feed air actuated valves...
