This is a notice of intent, NOT a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will NOT be issued, and quotations will NOT be requested.



The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Cepheid of Sunnyvale, California 94089-1189.



The purpose of this acquisition is to procure a Cepheid reagents kit. The period of performance is May 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024. The Cepheid Genexpert 4-drawer and Genexpert 12-drawer instruments, currently located in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, provide rapid, efficient, and sensitive extraction of nucleic acid from clinical samples, which allow for timely identification of the presence of infectious agents and hastens treatment. The reagent kits required for use with these instruments detect the presence of multidrug resistant organisms, respiratory viruses, and tuberculosis in patient samples that are of epidemiological significance. Tests performed with these reagent kits directly influence the treatment of patients in the Clinical Center.
