Expression of Interest are invited for Climate Change Risk Assessment for Vorotan Hydro Cascade
IFC aims to support ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade CJSC (CGHC) and Vorotan Cascade Project in carrying out a comprehensive climate risk assessment and adaptation plan to improve operational performance and resilience. IFC is looking for an experienced consultant (firm or consortium) to: (i) undertake comprehensive climate risk assessment (social and physical) of Vorotan Cascade; and (ii) provide recommendations on climate resilience interventions that could enhance the Projects- performance and reduce community and environment vulnerabilities to climate hazards, while avoiding maladaptation for the communities and environment. The support will be based on the Hydropower Sector Climate Resilience Guide developed by the International Hydropower Association (IHA), which provides a practical approach for identifying, assessing and managing climate risks to enhance the climate change resilience of new and existing hydropower projects.
