Expression of Interest are invited for Consultancy Services for Preparation of the CIF NPC Zambezi Region IP

The Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM), through the Government of Zambia, has received financing from the Climate Investment Funds (CIF - Nature, People and Climate/NPC Program) towards the cost of preparing the Zambezi Region Investment Plan (IP) Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for Preparation of the CIF NPC Zambezi Region IP. 2. The CIF NPC Program seeks to address the multiple drivers and impacts of climate change, resulting from human activities on land resources and ecosystem services, in an integrated manner. The Program will deploy nature-based solutions that recognize the interdependence among land use, climate-change mitigation and adaptation, and the improvement of the sources of livelihoods of rural communities and indigenous peoples. The Zambezi Region IP will build on the ongoing AfDB-funded anchor operation, namely Programme for Integrated Development and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Zambezi River Basin (PIDACC Zambezi). Based on this, Zambezi Region IP will be anchored on the four Pillars, namely: (i) Building evidence-base for the design of naturebased solution in the basin; (ii) Strengthening the enabling environment for sustainable uses of land, water and other natural resources; (iii) Strengthening nature-based resilience; and (iv) Enhancing nature-based mitigation.
