Tenders are invited for Coordinator for the Kigali Informal Settlements Upgrading Program (Kisup)

Objectives and content of the project

The aim of the project is to improve the living conditions of the population of the three selected informal settlements, while mitigating gentrification dynamics for low-income households. The specific objectives are (i) to improve access to resilient & inclusive urban services, (ii) to sustain the capacity of local stakeholders, particularly the City of Kigali, to implement upgrading informal settlements project in a resilient and inclusive approach, (iii) to test social housing solutions to mitigate the effects of gentrification.

Component 1: the implementation of the Upgrading Settlement Plans

Component 1.1: upgrading resilient, inclusive and safe infrastructures
Component 1.2: upgrading socio-collective facilities through co-design
Component 1.3: upgrading public spaces through the Urban Fabric Initiative
Component 2: enhancing capacity development for implementation and future upscaling

Component 3: testing Sustainable housing solutions for low-income tenants

Proposals must be submitted on Friday September 8th, 2023 at 17:00 (Paris time) the latest.
