Design Architecture for scalable Campus Area Network (CAN)

The US Army Contracting Command - New Jersey, on behalf of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center, is seeking information from qualified vendors to design a robust and scalable Campus Area Network (CAN) that provides high-performance connectivity and communication services to multiple buildings within the campus. The network must support up to several hundred users per building, adhere to Department of Defense (DOD) security requirements, and be scalable for future technological upgrades or capacity increases.



The scope of work includes providing a detailed architecture for a scalable CAN, secure and robust wireless connectivity solutions, and compliance with DOD security policies and regulations. As part of the project, the vendor will be required to conduct a thorough review of the current state of the CAN and develop a comprehensive transition plan to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations during implementation. This transition plan should include a detailed approach for migrating users, devices, and services from the existing CAN to a new and physically separate CAN, including strategies for minimizing downtime, ensuring continuity of operations, and validating that all critical services and applications are functioning as expected on the new network. Vendors should have personnel with industry certifications such as CCIE or CCNP for technical staff, and PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certifications such as Agile or Scrum Master for project management staff.
