The purpose of this RFP is to select an Energy Partner from a prequalified shortlist of Proponents to carry out a comprehensive deep energy retrofit for select facilities on or near the U of T St. George campus through a design-build project delivery model.
As part of the launch of the University-s Climate Positive plan, the University will retrofit several of its buildings over the next five years and wishes to work with energy partner(s) to achieve its retrofit goals. The retrofit projects will focus on the elimination of over 80% of the candidate buildings- current scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions and over 40% Energy Use Intensity (EUI) reduction.
The project proposed in this RFP will address stand-alone buildings at or near the U of T St. George campus and is expected to have a strong focus on, but not be limited to, Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) conversions, lighting, and modernizing Building Automation systems. It is expected that the construction phase for this Project will commence in 2025, and that commissioning will occur in 2027.
