The Finnish Forestry Agency is requesting a bid for the development and tests of remote sensing-based forest inventory stand interpretation "National remote sensingtoitus ja metsien digital
kaksonen (MetsaeKaksonen)" project in accordance with the specifications of this call for tenders and its appendices. The goal of the project (appendix 16) is to develop methods for forest inventorying in accordance with the national laser scanning and aerial imaging program to be implemented in 2026-31for rros.
GOAL AND TARGET OF THE PROCUREMENT
The main goal of the procurement and the project is the development of production methods for the collection of national remote sensing-based forest resource data, which combines the current area-based method and single-tree interpretation into a new hybrid method. The customer inventories the forestapproximately 4 million hectares each year.
We also emphasize the importance of the supplier's own contribution, because participating in method development creates better conditions for the supplier to offer an inventory of future forests and the project's budget is limited. The more widely different methods and new circuitsit is possible to test roads, the better the customer is able to justify the information needs and specifications for the funding of the future laser scanning and aerial imaging program....
