Tenders are invited for Distributed Sar Drone Based Demonstrator - Expro+

Small satellite has become a new development direction of spaceborne missions due to its advantages of flexible launch, short development cycle, and low cost. A distributed space-based system brings also potential advantages in terms of redundancy, overall robustness to failure and reconfigurability/flexibility. Synthetic Aperture Radar systems can benefit from the distributed configuration to achieve high performance while flying clusters of low performance small-size satellites. A distributed SAR configuration may bring also advantages such as additional flexibility for the system in terms of working mode, geometry of the formation during the operational lifetime and the exploitation of interferometry. Distributed SAR could also have some impairments coming from the tight formation flight needs or clock synchronization among receivers. The potential simplification in the space segment also comes at the expense of more complex on-ground processing step
