Expression of Interest are invited for E-vehicles - Market Research - Thailand
The popularity of motorcycle has been driven mainly by price point relevancy, which matches well with level of affordability by the market. As of 2022, Thais with monthly income between 10K-25K Thai Baht made up 41% of the population while 10k thai baht comprised another 16%. while motorcycles may be affordable and more fuel efficient than cars, they emit far more smog-forming hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen, as well as carbon monoxide. hence, migrating this massive proportion of motor vehicle to electrical motorcycles (ev motorcycles) will deliver significant uplift to climate and environmental impact in thailand.ifc aims to facilitate increased access to electric motorcycles among thais with the right financial enabler as part of the efforts to promote environmental and economic impact as well as promoting financial inclusion within lower income segments. in particular, ifc would like to better understand the behavior and gain knowledge about ev motorcycles among commercial motorcyclists (i.e. motorcycle taxis, delivery riders, and/or other people using motorcycles for income generating activities), as they represent a large segment of the motorcycles users.ifc is interested in conducting a market assessment of electric motorcycle loan including, but not limited to, the size of the electric motorcycle market and primary target profiles as well as validating and fine tuning an initial value proposition and adoption journey. ifc-s fig advisory services team is looking for a seasoned market research firm with knowledge and first-hand experience with mass-lower income segment, financial products (i.e. lending) in thailand. the firm will work alongside experienced ifc industry specialists and operations staff over the course of the research.
