Upgrading the Tunnel North is a part of a national project that includes upgrading of some national road tunnels in accordance with the regulations on minimum safety requirements for certain road tunnels (the Tunnel Safety Regulations). The works in this contract comprise upgrading of the 1, 780 metres long underwater Nappstraum tunnel on the E10 in Vestvågøy and Flakstad municipality in Lofoten. Main elements: - Rock protection and blasting work. - Building new water and frost protection - Building new closure points - Building new technical buildings - The construction of a new ventilation system. - Replace all the safety equipment Building a new monitoring system.
