BACKGROUNDThe Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Initiative as part of the WHO-s support for country health emergency preparedness, focuses on building capacity to respond nationally to emergencies applying minimum operational standards and principles. The overall aim of the EMT Initiative is to reduce morbidity, mortality and disability in emergencies, and to work together in partnership to harmonize efforts and use available resources efficiently and effectively for the benefit of the affected people. In the Pacific, the EMT Initiative focuses on capacity building of national EMTs, leveraging national health emergency response coordination systems/structures. PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITYThe incumbent will provide operational and program management support to EMT Initiative in the Federated States of Micronesia, aimed at supporting the Government of FSM : • Support the establishment and development of a national EMT, including formation and coordination of a national EMT Technical Working Group (TWG) • Ensure day-to-day operations in the context of the EMT Initiative as part of national health emergency preparedness • Establish and maintain close relationship and coordinat...
