The RTC desires to deploy a cloud-based or web accessible signal timing optimization system that supports emergency vehicle preemption and transit signal priority as part of the USDOT FY 22 SMART Grant: Safer, Smarter, Faster. The project intends to utilize existing Computer Aided Dispatch/Automated Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) and General Transit Feed Specifications (GTFS) available from City of Las Vegas and RTC, respectively, and machine learning to implement real-time signal timing optimization within and surrounding the Las Vegas Medical District.
