Opgavebeskrivelse: Background and ContextThe potential for improving energy efficiency in SEA is significant. The share of energy consumption covered by mandatory efficiency measures in Southeast Asia remains lower than the global average. This has significant implications for the region’s energy outlook. For example, relatively weak fuel efficiency standards push up demand for oil and limited efficiency requirements on appliances mean higher electricity consumption. Energy projections to 2040 based on existing or stated policies reveal some serious challenges linked to increased reliance on imported fuels and rising emissions. Governments in the region are therefore taking steps to meet rising demands in a secure, affordable and sustainable manner.Against this background, TC in SEA has establishing a focused energy efficiency alliance of 6 Danish companies that will offer solutions for hotels and office buildings where there is a critical mass and replicability. The alliance will focus on providing public affairs support, facilitating client opportunities where there is a critical mass, as well as partnerships with Danish and regional organisations.PurposeThe purpose of the project is to increase market penetration for Danish providers of energy efficiency solutions through energy audits that will provide energy savings opportunities based on a suite of technical solutions rather than individual components.
