The Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (Esmap)-World Bank (Wb) Team; In Collaboration with the Government of Namibia; Is Launching a National Energy Survey Aiming to have a More Granular Picture of Current Energy Access and Affordability Issues in Namibia. Namibia Aims to Achieve Universal Access to Electricity by 2040 (Government of the Republic of Namibia - Ministry of Mines and Energy 2021).[1] the Government Recognizes the Vital Role of Electricity in Socio-Economic Development; Particularly in Rural Areas Where Access is Limited Compared to Urban Centers. Emphasis is on Leveraging Local Renewable Energy Resources for Both on- and off-Grid Solutions; Aiming for Reliable; Affordable; And Sustainable Electricity services.the Objectives of this Study Are: (1) to Analyze Energy Access in Namibia at a Granular Levelthis Study Aims to Provide the Energy Access Status of Namibia at the Household; Community; And Public Institution Levels; As Well as the Enterprise Level. This Study will Analyze Access to Electricity and Clean Cooking Services More Nuancedly Using the Multi-Tier Tracking Framework for Energy Access. (2) to Examine the Energy Affordability of Householdsthis Study Aims at Analyzing Households- Ability to Pay for Energy Services. The Study will Examine Households- Expenditure Levels and Energy Spending; And it will Also Investigate Households- Demand and Willingness to Pay for the Grid Connection; Off-Grid Solar Solutions; And Improved Biomass Stoves at Different Price Points and Payment Periods. (3) to Analyze Households- Access to off-Grid Solar Technologies and Their Behaviorthis Study will Identify Different off-Grid Solar Solutions Households Adopt for Their Electricity and Cooking. The Study will Also Analyze Household Behavior in Using and Obtaining Solar Technologies and Provide Insights into the Demand Side of the off-Grid Solar Market in Namibia. (4) to Analyze the Supply Side of the Solar Market this Study will Explore Solar Solutions for Electricity and Cooking in the off-Grid Solar Market.
