The overall goal of the project is to develop a modernized modelling tool to forecast short-term and long-term water demand in the SSRB in support of Minister-s Mandate for increase water availability. When complete, the water demand forecasting model is able to provide spatially explicit and temporally dynamic forecasts to capture variations in water demand across the basin and water use sectors; identify key factors and challenges affecting water demand forecasting; project short-term and long-term water demand in SSRB to support overall water management and operational use; and assess the future emerging demand patterns (due to several factors including socio-economic growth and climate change) for various water use sectors to provide valuable information for decision makers in managing water resources strategically.This project will be conducted over a two-year period (2024-2026) consisting of Phase I, Phase II and Phase III, as follows.•Phase I: Scoping study (Project start date to 03-31-2025)•Phase II: Model development and application for short- and long- term water demand forecasting (2025 April-2026 March)•Phase III: Predict the impact of climate change and other socio-economic growth scenarios on water demand in SSRB to support long-term water stewardship (2025 April-2026 March)While all phases are listed, this RFP only pertains to Phase I - Scoping Study.
