Tenders are invited for E&S Scoping Report Malawi - Resilient and Strategic Transport Project (RESTORE)
The proposed RESTORE Project will focus on (1) the rehabilitation of selected sections of the M1 and connecting feeder roads in the lower Shire; and (2) the enhancement of government capacity to mainstream climate resilience in the life cycle of transport asset management. The main objective of this assignment is to develop an E&S Scoping Report for road rehabilitation activities and technical studies on selected roads. The E&S Scoping report (including a Stakeholder Engagement Plan) to be developed according to the World Bank Environment and Social Framework (ESF) requirements will inform the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment(s) (ESIAs) and other applicable studies and E&S instruments which will be prepared in subsequent phases. The ESIA for the project is not part of the current assignment. Additionally; the Consultant is required to prepare an Environmental and Social Management Plan for the PIU office refurbishment works.
