The Central African Republic (RCA) has known for almost a decade, armed conflicts that have led to massive displacements of people and caused the advanced degradation of a large part of the social infrastructure. The last presidential election of December 2020 exacerbated the fragility of the situation. To support government actions for the benefit of vulnerable populations, activities are permanently implemented by UNICEF in the Central African Republic, with a strong component of construction and rehabilitation of social infrastructure. Some of these construction and rehabilitation works are still underway, notably those of the projects funded by GPE, GAVI and KFW. Some of this work started in 2019 and delayed by the Cavid 19 pandemic and the recent crises from the December 2020 presidential election have not yet been the subject of final reception. In addition, several projects still include major components of new construction/rehabilitation activities in the next 2 years.
