Description
The DOE Energy Transitions Initiative Partnership Project (ETIPP), managed by ETI in collaboration with DOE EERE-s Integrated Strategies and other Technology Offices, offers direct technical assistance to remote and island communities to analyze energy systems and plan for increased resilience. Competitively selected communities work with experts at DOE national laboratories and regional organizations to design 12- to18-month projects that support the communities in meeting their energy resilience goals. DOE national lab staff and partner organizations work with community representatives on each project and develop solutions that can be used by community decision makers to plan for increased energy resilience. ETIPP-s energy analysis and planning support helps communities develop strategic energy resilience solutions that employ a range of energy technologies and solutions, such as energy efficiency in buildings, hydropower, microgrids, solar, wind, geothermal, marine energy, rate structures analysis, storage, and electric transportation.
ETIPP work effort is for selection of up to twelve (12) Subcontractor(s)/Regional Partners to represent geographic regions, as listed below:
Great Lakes Gulf Coast Hawaii and Pacific Territories Mid-Atlantic Coastline Puerto Rico Southeastern SeaboardThese Regional Partners will support NREL in the planning and development of resilient energy systems for island and remote communities. This support will include identification of remote and islanded communities, stakeholder engagement on the topics of energy, resilience, energy education, and implementation of long-term energy planning.
