Tenders are invited for European Electric Propulsion Tug with Comms and Nav Functionality, Exploration Science and Passenger Delivery : Phase a/b1 (Expert - e3cx-015)
The Space Tug is expected to be the first of several missions which can deliver a single passenger spacecraft or multiple smaller, low-cost spacecraft to Mars orbit. Once the tug has released its passenger(s) it will then transfer to an operational service orbit where it will remain as a node that provides communications, navigation, and exploration science service capabilities. Over the course of multiple missions, the coverage and bandwidth of this service will increase and provide redundancy. The development of such a tug capability also leads us down the path of sustainability.
