Description

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing a pre-solicitation notice for a requirement entitled, “Extended Reality For Technical Training Pilot.”The NRC intends to issue an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to develop Extended Reality (xR) immersive learning scenarios that will include using immersive virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) to create learning experiences for the NRC staff. The scenarios may include some or all the following areas: nuclear power-plant design and operation, research and test reactor operations, inspection techniques, physical security, health physics, and such disciplines as welding, nondestructive testing, reactor maintenance, refueling, and quality assurance. Additionally, the functionality of hosting and providing multi-user input simultaneously to these immersive learning activities will also be addressed.This is an IDIQ contract that may have multiple tasks orders issued to the contractor. The first task order will be awarded with the IDIQ. The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the tasks and deliverables described in this SOW and any task orders associated with this contract. The contractor shall provide the technical skills, xR equipment, and tools necessary to set-up and maintain the xR training scenarios. The xR training scenarios shall focus on the following areas that are taught at the NRC/TTC. The two large areas are health physics (HP) and commercial electric nuclear power plant operations.
