Request for proposals are invited for fabricate, produce, and distribute energy-saving cooking stoves/Boilers to School.
This call is therefore seeking the services of competent firm/service provider/Vendor to fabricate produce and distribute energy-saving cooking stoves/boilers to qualifying schools. All activities falling under this call will be undertaken in partnership wit the TIDE project with physical offices in Mbarara.
The qualifying firm/service provider must showcase ii competencies to undertake two main tasks that include fabricating and distributing boilers to school These tasks will further be informed by a grant agreement to be signed between the VENDOR and the SNV TIDE Project.
Background to the TIDE II project
SNV Uganda signed a four-year (2020 -2023) grant agreement with the Netherlands Embassy in Uganda (EKN) to implement phase 2 of The Inclusive Dairy Enterprise (TIDE) project in Southwestern Uganda. Under TlDE-l a parent-led school milk project was launched and successfully implemented in southwestern Uganda through an MOU with the government of Uganda as a national pilot for a parent-led school feeding intervention and by the end
of the project, over 300, 000 learners from 950 schools were drinking milk as part of a school meal.
Building on the results of TIDE I, phase 2 focuses on two components, i.e., deepening and up-scaling.
Under the deepening component. TiDE-2 shifted focus from market creation to market development; ensuring that the market delivers products and services to dairy farmers and consumers of milk and dairy products that are accessible, relevant, affordable and of high quality. TIDE-2 continues to support cooperatives, value chain linkages and domestic market diversification, including the promotion of milk and yoghurt in schools.
