Safe participation in road traffic requires reliable risk perception and assessment as well as a quick and appropriate behavioral reaction. A current one is currently missingOverview and discussion of the importance and recording of, as well as scientifically based answers to the following questions: How can the perception of danger, especially by cyclists (and also motorized individual transport drivers), be defined and recorded reliably and validly? How can the psychological constdifferentiating between "subjective safety" and "hazard perception and assessment"? Which situational characteristics (e.g. infrastructure, traffic density) and personal characteristics (e.g. attitudes, expectations, personality traits) influence the perception of danger? under weUnder certain conditions, the subjective assessment of a hazard deviates from the objective dangerousness of a traffic situation.
Aim and benefit of the project
The aim of the project is to investigate the connection between the objective dangerousness of a traffic situation involving a Rcyclists on the one hand and the risk perception and assessment of cyclists (or MIV drivers) on the other hand.
