Refoplan: “Newsonox - New Solutions for the Reduction of Nox Emissions from Shipping” Part I - New solutions for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions in sea traffic Part I
Current research results show that nitrogen oxide emissions (NOx) of seagoing ships in operation are sometimes significantly higher than the values to be observed in certification (NOx Technical code). As part of the project, instruments / regulations to reduce NOx must be developed and it must be evaluated which instruments are particularly effective and should be pursued in a priority in the political process.
The second component is fuel analyzes to improve the data systems regarding H / C ratio / aromatic content. This is relevant for the development of Black Carbon reduction measures.
In a follow -up project (part II) it is planned that data gaps will be closed for the favorite instrument/e with measurements or modeling and the measure is checked for its effectiveness, robustness, controllability and realizability.
