Description

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Maritime Administration (MARAD) is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement for a multiple award Floating Crane Service Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) as described in the attached documents. The objective of this BPA is to provide floating crane services to the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet (SBRF) for (a) retrieving anchors that are stuck in the mud, and (b) for lifting anchors, chain, and other large, heavy items and pieces of equipment from a barge or ship moored in the anchorage and placing these items on another barge or ship moored in the anchorage. All work is to be accomplished in the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet, General Anchorage #26, located in Benicia, California. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, with a small business size standard of $45 million.
