The overall purpose of acquiring a rotation generator is to streamline the work of preparing rotations in Trondheim municipality. Our long-term goals are to be able to automate large parts of the shift process using artificial intelligence, and this is an important part of this work. Currentlyour staffing planners spend a lot of time writing rotations. The aim of using a rotating generator is to reduce this considerably. We envision that greater demands will be placed on pre-work and post-work, but that the preparation time itself will decrease towards zero. In order for it to become a real eefficiency, we depend on the shift generator being able to handle most of the variations inherent in shift work. For example, it must handle absences such as holidays and leaves. Furthermore, it should handle different rotation patterns, especially related to weekends and it must be possible to manage the macurrently certain dates and other arrangements for employees. The intention is that, with good preliminary work, we should be able to create a rotation that takes care of all the parameters we need and that the post-work will therefore be small. Trondheim municipality currently uses GAT from Visma as software for preparingrotations and operation of guards at the units. We are therefore dependent on the fact that the data that comes out of the shift generator can be easily entered into GAT, and the better integrated such a solution is, the greater the efficiency potential will be. In this initial round, our demand is no higher than that...
