Background



During the renovation of the State Council Castle and the State Council Quarter, interior design work is carried out in the so-called In the Valtioneuvostokartel, e.g. in the properties Snellmaninkatu 7, Kirkkokatu 12-14 and Hallituskatu 3.i in the buildings of the ministries, which are located on the central campus.

As part of the project, the part located in the courtyard of the State Council Castle, completed in 1900 as the Senate's printing house, will also be demolished and replaced with a new building. The State Council Castle and the State Council Quarter are valuable buildings, and Vthe buildings of the Supreme Council's castle have been protected, with the exception of the printing house proposed for demolition.

During the renovation, the building technology of the buildings will be renewed and the working spaces will be designed to meet the state's business space strategy and modern working requirements. The aim of the renovation is to improve the condition of the premisesstreamlining, supporting the work of the Government Council and creating the conditions for a unified Government Council, where spatial solutions support new ways of working. The project enables ministers to work in shared facilities and ministries to work in a multi-location and flexible work environment. Thanks to the flexible solutions, more activities can be concentrated in these blocks if necessary.
