The Bochum university medicine consists of the medical faculty of the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) and the university hospital of the Ruhr University Bochum (UK RUB) from 8 supporting clinics. As one of the largest university hospitals in Germany, the UK RUB has enormous potential for data-drivenlevel clinical research. In order to be able to use this potential optimally, a coordinated digitization strategy is indispensable.
The project of a joint digitization strategy pursues the goal of using structured and interoperable data preparation and provisionat the UK RUB locations, as well as with the availability of valuable data sets and biomaterial, to strengthen research and teaching locally, nationally and internationally. For this purpose, the locations of the UK RUB provide pseudonymous data with the consent of a patient by means of a trustee (THS).based, supply and research data according to the core data sets (KDS) of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) for the central data platform located at the RUB - the central data management (ZDM) - ready. The RUB takes on the task of bundling and merging the pseudonymisedPatient data from UK RUB care and research and enables the use of this data for data protection-compliant national and international research projects.
