The Onsite Training Purchases Team at the NASA Shared Services Center is requesting information from vendors for the following business opportunity:
Statement of Work
A "Heartsaver First Aid" training course, provided by the American Heart Association (AHA), is a basic first aid training program designed to teach individuals with little to no medical background how to respond to emergency situations by providing critical first aid skills like CPR, using an AED, and managing basic injuries until professional help arrives; essentially, it equips people to be prepared to "save a heart" in an emergency.
NASA-s Glenn Research Center (Glenn) in Cleveland is seeking a qualified vendor to deliver a comprehensive instructor-led-training for safety, health, and environmental responders.
Objectives
The course should be designed for individuals with little to no medical training and aim to equip them to respond effectively until professional medical help arrives.
First aid basics: Understanding the role of a first aider, scene safety, initial assessment, and how to call for emergency medical services. Medical emergencies: Recognizing and responding to situations like cardiac arrest, stroke, allergic reactions, seizures, diabetic emergencies, and fainting. Injury emergencies: Managing bleeding wounds, burns, sprains, dislocations, and potential spinal injuries. Environmental emergencies: Responding to heat-related illnesses, cold exposure, bites and stings, and potential poisonings. CPR and AED use: Performing chest compressions and using an automated external defibrillator on adults, with optional modules for child and infant CPR. Choking management: Performing abdominal thrusts for choking victims. Bloodborne pathogens and universal precautions: Understanding and practicing infection control measures.Scope of Work
