Expression of Interest are invited for High Level Assessment of Carbon Abatement Opportunities in Oil and Gas Sector Operations

The objective of this assignment is to: (a) conduct a high-level, desk-based estimation of GHG (CO2 and methane) emissions from oil and gas value chain operations, (b) identify applicable levers for carbon abatement measures, including energy efficiency improvements, abatement of CO2 emissions and CH4 (methane) venting and leakages, flaring reduction, electrification and integration of renewable energy (RE) options in O&G operations, integration of low-carbon power & heat and CCS opportunities to reduce the carbon intensity of oil & gas production; (c) provide estimates of abatement costs and assess the economic and commercial feasibility of applicable solutions, (d) produce an indicative prioritized, sequenced, short- to medium term Action Plan proposal for decarbonization of O&G operations, and (e) produce a prioritized, sequenced short- to medium term action plan proposal for implementation of an oil and gas sector decarbonization policy and regulatory framework for sustained carbon abatement action and investment along the oil and gas value chain.

Following this invitation for EOI, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection will be subject to the availability of funding.

Only those firms which have been shortlisted will be invited to participate in the RFP phase. No notification or debrief will be provided to firms which have not been shortlisted.
