The service will involve the design and implementation of communication and public awareness
programs for the prevention and management of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Ebola, COVID-19 & Gender
Sensitization Awareness within the project area throughout the duration of the project. The consultancy
is expected to incorporate an awareness campaign strategy that will, motivate and educate Contractor
and Consultant Personnel and the local communities and authorities about the need to reduce the risk of
(transmission) of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Ebola, COVID-19 & Gender Sensitization Awareness and to
promote early diagnosis, counselling as well as to assist affected individuals to access treatment to
recover from the associated diseases listed. The Project components include: (i) Road Development
and mitigation of negative environmental impacts; (ii) Related Development and Women
Empowerment Measures; (iii) Transport Facilitation; (iv) Institutional Support; and (v) Project
Management. The Project will be implemented for 36 months plus 12 monthsfor defects liability period.
The HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Ebola, COVID-19 & Gender Sensitization Awareness Consultancy Services
shall be carried out intermittently over the entire thirty-six (36) months construction period. The
assignment has been divided into seven stages: (i) Inception Report & Baseline Study (ii) Information,
Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign No.1) (iii) Information, Education and Communication
(IEC) Campaign No.2) (iv) Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign No.3) (v)
Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign No.4) (vi) Information, Education and
Communication (IEC) Campaign No.) and (vii) Final Report/ Information, Education and Communication
(IEC) Campaign No.6). Each phase shall be carried out for a period of four (4) weeks intermittently
along the project corridor (Putuken to John Davis Town (50km)).
