***INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE-*** Â Â Estimated Date of Award: January 3, 2025Synopsis: Â Â The Department of Veterans Affairs, Columbia, South Carolina intends to make a direct award to Geomed, Abiomed s exclusive Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) representative for Abiomed Impella CP, part number 4000021, Description: Impella CP with Smart Assist Heart Pump & Companion Sheath Bundle Includes: (1) Purge Cassette (1) 14Fr Introducer Sheath, 13cm (1) 14Fr Introducer Sheath, 25cm (1) Placement Guidewire, .035' x 150cm (1) Placement Guidewire, .018' x 260cm (1) 7Fr Low Profile Companion Sheath, in accordance with FAR 19.1406.Location is the Atlanta VA Medical Center, 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033, United States.The contract is expected to be awarded under FAR Part 13. A Limited Sources Justification has been prepared. Abiomed is the only supplier of this catheter which is used during high-risk cardiac surgical procedures. The Atlanta VA purchased the Abiomed Impella Controller and is in need of replacement catheters. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) (1)(ii), Soliciting from a Single Source. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing with a Small Business Size Standard of 800 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, Contractors may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the contracting officer whether to continue with the sole source procurement or to provide for competition.
