In 2025 the Norwegian Environment Agency will start a new project that shall create all-covering natural maps based on Nature in Norway system (NiN). Two announcements are planned for the project during the first part of 2025, one for field mapping and one for map production. We are already sharing this information to prepare potential suppliers for the coming procurements. The mapping assignment shall be carried out in accordance with a description of the assignment from the Norwegian Environment Agency, as well as arts data bank ́s guidelines for the type and description system (NiN). The assignment will be announced in the transition january/February 2025. There will be 8 sub-contracts in the competition. The total cost limit will be approx. NOK 10 million. The procurement connected to map production will be based on remote measuring and machine learning and will be announced during February/March 2025. The cost framework will be approx. NOK 3 million in 2025 and will have an option for further work in 2026. The delivery in 2025 will be connected to test areas chosen by the Norwegian Environment Agency.
